The BavarianSimTec Asetek QR is the BST-specific version of the Invicta™ Quick Release Adapter — engineered in close collaboration with Asetek SimSports to allow all BavarianSimTec steering wheels to mount directly to any Asetek wheelbase with no USB cable between wheel and base. The electronics and internal USB wiring have been modified so the QR connects directly to the wheel via USB-C or the internal BST connector, keeping your cockpit completely cable-free at the hub. Zero play. 500N safety release. Clean from the start.

Why No Cable Matters.

Standard quick releases route a USB cable between the steering wheel and wheelbase — visible, exposed, and vulnerable. The BST QR eliminates this entirely. BavarianSimTec worked directly with Asetek from the very beginning of development to modify the QR's internal electronics and wiring so the wheel connects cleanly through the QR itself. The result is a cockpit with no trailing cables at the wheel hub — the only clean and sensible solution.

Why is there no USB cable with this QR?

The BST QR was developed in close collaboration with Asetek with modified internal electronics and USB wiring. Instead of routing a USB cable from the wheelbase to the wheel externally, the connection passes through the QR itself directly to the wheel via USB-C or the internal BST connector. This eliminates any need for a cable between wheel and base, keeping your cockpit completely clean.

How do I get the free connection cable?

The BST-JST to USB-C connection cable is available free of charge in different lengths. Simply add a note at checkout saying "PLEASE ADD CONNECTION CABLE" and specify the length you need. If you are unsure which length suits your setup, contact us at shop@clutchracing.com.au before ordering.

Does this QR include a mounting plate?

No — the mounting plate and adapter plate are not included and must be ordered separately. Please check the BavarianSimTec Mounting Plate and Adapter Plate listings in our store to find the correct plate for your setup.

What is the safety release force?

The BST QR has a built-in safety release at 500N of pull force with a 320mm steering wheel. This means there is no risk of accidentally disconnecting the wheel during normal use, while the safety release provides protection if something unexpected occurs during a session.

Can I use this QR with other (non-BST) steering wheels?

No — this is the BST-specific version of the Invicta QR with modified electronics designed specifically for BavarianSimTec steering wheels. It will not work correctly with other steering wheel brands. If you need a standard Asetek QR for non-BST wheels, please see the Asetek Invicta QR Adapter V2 in our store.

How long does shipping to Australia take?
