Discover the Sabelt X99 EVO I Rally & Road Cockpit

The Sabelt X99 EVO I is a purpose-built cockpit designed for sim racers who prefer a more natural, upright driving position. Inspired by real-world road and rally cars, it delivers a driving experience that feels closer to a traditional vehicle compared to low, reclined formula setups.

Built in Italy using high-grade aluminium profiles and precision-machined components, the X99 offers excellent rigidity for high-performance setups. It’s designed to handle direct drive wheelbases and load cell pedals while maintaining stability and consistency under heavy inputs.

Unlike formula-style cockpits, the X99 focuses on upright ergonomics, making it a strong choice for rally, drifting and road car simulation. The driving position is more familiar and intuitive, particularly for users coming from real-world driving or those who prefer a more relaxed seating posture.

What to Expect

The X99 EVO I is supplied as a cockpit frame only, allowing you to configure your setup with your preferred seat, mounts and hardware.  You can check out our bundles here.

Its adjustable design makes it easy to dial in your ideal driving position, while maintaining a consistent upright layout suited to rally and road driving styles. Once assembled, the cockpit feels solid and stable, even when paired with high-torque systems.

Who is the X99 EVO I for?

The X99 EVO I is ideal for sim racers who:

  • primarily drive rally, drifting or road cars

  • prefer a more upright, natural seating position

  • are building a high-end setup with premium hardware

It’s a strong choice if you’re looking for a cockpit that delivers a realistic road-car driving feel with the rigidity required for modern sim racing equipment.

Who it’s NOT for

If you’re looking for a low, reclined formula driving position, the P99 EVO I is a better fit.

If you want a flexible cockpit that can switch between multiple disciplines, the S99 EVO offers more versatility.

The X99 is designed to deliver a specific driving experience rather than cover every use case.

Our Take

The X99 EVO I strikes a great balance between realism and usability. The upright driving position feels natural and familiar, particularly for rally and road car simulation, while still offering the rigidity needed for high-end hardware.

If you’re not chasing a formula-style setup and want something that feels closer to a real car, the X99 is one of the best options available.

FAQs About this product

What type of driving is the X99 EVO I best for?

The X99 is designed for rally, drifting and road car simulation, with a more upright seating position similar to a real vehicle.

How does the X99 compare to the S99 EVO?

The X99 is more specialised for upright driving styles, while the S99 is a more flexible, multi-discipline cockpit.

Does the X99 include wheel and pedal mounts?

No — mounts are not included, allowing you to customise your setup based on your preferred hardware.

Is the upright position comfortable for long sessions?

Yes — many users find the upright position more natural and comfortable, particularly for rally and road-style driving.

How difficult is it to assemble?

Compared to the other extrusion rigs we have assembled, the S99 is quick and easy due to it's modular design. It is easily assebled my a single person but it is reccommended that you have a second person when making fine tuning adjustments so that you don't have to keep jumping in and out.

Can I test it out?

We are currently in a temporary warehouse and don't have an S99 set up to test. We do, however have a P99. Although it is not the same, inspecting the P99 will give you a great idea of the quality, finish and rigidity of the S99.

Why is it so expensive?

There are a couple of factors here. The rig uses oversized extrusions and aluminium plates in a high level of finish so materials cost accounts for a large part of the RRP. It is also designed and manufactured in Italy which has a higher labour and import costs than Asia, where most rigs are made.

Can i add accessories later?

Absolutely, we actually reccomend that, unless you know exactly what you want, you start with somewhat of a bare rig and add to it over time. This goes for both Sabelt parts and pretty much anything that you can bolt to an aluminium extrusion slot.
